Divinity Original Sin 2 Continue Multiplayer
OP | My friend and I were playing Definitive edition through a direct connection (we both own the game on GoG.com), but since the last patch, when we click the connectivity menu or the option to invite nothing happens at all. The only way we managed to invite each other was through using the code, but that also just gave us a connection error. We're both experiencing the same issue with the connectivity page not showing up, and I've also tried on two different computers. I really hope there is some kind of fix because we've already had to restart our play-through once and we wouldn't want to do it again... (Edited the post because the single player issue I was experiencing seems to have fixed itself...) Last edited by StarDreamer; 25/10/18 06:15 PM. Reason: Elite |

Classic Edition 3.0.226.993 (GoG) I also have an issue with multiplayer that sounds identical. We (both using GoG) were last able to successfully connect and play on October 11th. After that the functionality from both the Invite Players button on the main menu as well as the invite buttons on the bottom of the Connectivity Menu simply do not work. The buttons animate when clicked but no longer do anything. I think it is related to the save file in some way. My computer had the issue first so we tested by transferring the save file to the second computer. It was able to create a new game and invite players as normal before loading the save file. As soon as the save file was loaded the second computer experienced the exact issue with broken invite system as well. Unfortunately, deleting the save file doesn't help and the issue persists. We've run through the full troubleshooting list including verification of game files, new profiles, etc. I just did a full delete and reinstall, made sure all saves were deleted, created a new profile, started a new multiplayer lobby, and experienced the same issue. |

OP | I think ours last worked around the same time as yours, Max Camber. That was probably before the last patch. My friend and I also tried another save and starting a new game, same issues. Oddly enough, the next day my friend was able to create a new game (I was host in the previous one) and invite me via direct code. It hadn't worked for him the previous day, and it's still not working for me. Obviously, we don't really want to start over, and even less so when we can't be sure this won't happen again... Judging by the lack of replies and no similar issues being reported, I am wondering what the chances are this will get fixed... Last edited by StarDreamer; 25/10/18 06:16 PM. |

My path is about as default as it gets: I'm also wondering if the issue is related to GoG in some way? I'll try one more full wipe and reinstall later today. Are there any other game files in another location that I should be cleaning out at the same time? |

I just did another full wipe, including all local data and saves, disabled GoG cloud sync, then re-installed. I created a new profile, confirmed that there is nothing in the saves folder, and was still unable to invite from a brand new multiplayer game due to the same issue. I'm not sure what else to test at this point. If this is a GoG issue then I'm assuming the Steam version is still working fine. |

And now it's working again for me. The only change I made (based on a response from Larian support via email) was to alter the connectivity settings before loading a game. I don't know if that action fixed the issue or it was already fixed by Larian or GoG, but I'm still on the same version number. |
